Top 10 Tapas bars in Barcelona

A question that is being asked quiet a lot: Where can we eat the best tapas in Barcelona? Well, here’s a list of 10 of the best tapas bars in Barcelona. They’re all in random order, so read and enjoy.

Cervecería Catalana

At Cervecería Catalana in Eixample the tapas are really of outstanding quality, the portions are good and the prices normal. At the entrance the fantastic snacks are staring at you, what is of course very useful for people who not understand the menu, this way you can just point out the things you want to eat.
Cervecería Catalana: Carrer de Mallorca 236, Metro: Diagonal

Bar Morrysom

Bar Morrysom is a family business where it’s very busy during lunchtime when a lot of Spaniards are coming to eat. In the evenings you find a lot of neighbours in Morrysom. Opposite to other places in the centre you get good portions for affordable prices here. Especially the patatas bravas and the gambas rebosadas are delicious. Keep in mind that Morrysom closes on Saturday night and Sunday.
Bar Morrysom: Carrer de Girona 162, Metro: Verdaguer

41°

The Catalan top chefs Ferran and Albert Adrià are offering their dishes for an affordable price here. They got room for 37 persons in their snackería 41°, and making a reservation isn’t possible. Here you can taste the typical El Bulli-creations, like foam of olives or mozzarella, a crepe of Peking duck or a cloud of lemon with coconut.
41°: Avinguda de Paral-lel 164, Metro: Poble Sec

Jai-Ca

Jai-Ca is a real notion under the locals in the fishers quarter Barceloneta. The tapas are very good and affordable. Besides that there is a fine terrace. A little knowledge of the Catalan tapas offer is needed cause Jai-Ca doesn’t have a menu. But you can always point out your order on the tapas-filled bar.
Jai-Ca: Carrer de Ginebra 13, Metro: Barceloneta

Tapas 24

Tapas 24 is the tapasbar of chef Carles Abellan, the guy that did his internship at El Bulli. And this is its tribute to the Spanish tapasbar. It isn’t the cheapest option to get your tummy filled but the unique tapas are definitely worth trying.
Tapas24: Carrer de Disputació 24, Metro: Plaça Catalunya or Passeig de gràcia

La Plata

This classic tapasbar from the 20s on the corner of the Gothic quarter serves three different kinds of tapas, salads (tomato, onion and olives), botifarra and fried sardines. With just 5 tables you’re quickly standing at the bar or outside, but it’s definitely worth trying looking at the combination of price and quality. This tapasbar is the favorite of Ferran Adrià, his brother Albert and Bono (the one from U2).
La Plata: Carrer de Mercè 28, Metro: Jaume I

El Sortidor

El Sortidor in the Poble Sec area is a classic. The tapas restaurant is furnished sophisticated with modern stained in glass windows, cute table lamps and overlooks the Plaça del Sortidor. Also the corresponding terrace on the square is a recommendation.
El Sortidor: Plaça del Sortidor 5, Metro: Poble Sec

Sol Soler

On Plaça del Sol in the in the working-class quarter Gràcia, tapas bar Sol Soler is situated where they serve the best drumsticks in town. It isn’t a classic TL-lighted bar, but a cozy one with nice music where you can sit for hours.
Sol Soler: Plaça del Sol 21-22, Metro: Fontana

La Pepa

La Pepa is a tapas restaurant specialized in grilled dishes, situated near El Molino, the Mouling Rouge of Barcelona. Recently re-opened with a new look, sponsored by the beer brand Moritz, this restaurant wants to be a reference on the grill area: different sorts of meat, sardines, onions, eggs and more, prepared by the chefs Enric Alert and Maria Garcia.
Bar La Pepa: Ronda de Sant Pau 7, Metro: Parel-lel

Mesón David

Mesón David isn’t a place you will come across as a tourist, but if you want to eat real Spanish tapas it is one of the best addresses. Fish from Galicia and meat out of the whole country. Moreover you are at the right spot for good filled plates and good prices. Most of the tapas just cost a few Euros and the specialty of the house, Lechazo, is 7 Euro. The wine is only sold per bottle and most of the time the place is full.
Mesón David: Carrer des Carretas 63, Metro: Paral-lel or Liceu
