On the Moll d’Espanya or the Spanish pier in the old harbour of Barcelona, the shopping mall Maremàgnum is situated. Here you’ll find a lot of shops, bars and restaurants and a cinema. Nearby you’ll also find the Aquàrium of Barcelona and the Imax movie theatre. During your holiday in Barcelona, visiting this shopping and entertainment paradise a true recommendation.

If you’re on vacation in Barcelona you might want to buy a present for the home front or, why not, for yourself. In this article there are three shops passing by at which you almost for sure will find  original presents: Vinçon, Kukuxumusu and Planelles Donat.

Las Arenas is the newest shopping mall of Barcelona. This mall will be the most beautiful and unique one considering it is established in the old Plaza de Toros, a bull fighting ring, situated at Plaza Espanya, nearby the magic fountains of Barcelona. The build and renovation of this old arena to a modern and unique shopping mall took several years and is due to financial problems been interrupted a couple of times.

Momo is tucked away in the narrow streets of the Gothic Area just by Plaza Jaume I. The shop is full of hand-crafted Japanese ceramics, kimonos, origami sets, calligraphy sets, chop sticks, little purses, wooden ornaments, sandals, the list is endless. Make sure you drop in if you are near by as not only is it perfect for presents but you are bound to find something you fall in love with for yourself.

The phenomenon ‘outlet’ has grown a lot last years. An outlet is a store where people sell products of collections that are taken out of circulation or remains of previous seasons for very lucrative prices. It isn’t about second hand articles as more often is thought. Nowadays you have outlets of clothing, shoes, household equipment, computers and so on.

Since the establishment in 1908 by the family Vilaseca, grocery store Colmado Quilez in Barcelona is being a reference for food of a high quality. Visiting this well-known grocery store is for sure worth the experience.

It is said Barcelona has more than 35.000 shops. The most chic ones are situated at Passeig de Gràcia and on the Ramblas de Catalunya. Suits for €2000 euro and a leather jacket costing €4000 euro aren’t exceptional here. However there are things to see that are more affordable. When you go for a shopping journey you definitely can’t miss out the design department store Vinçon.

Calle Tallers is one of the oldest streets in Raval and it is known principally for its many shops which sell all types of music, new and old, and all things to do with music. There are shops selling music from all decades and all genres and the street has an added charm about it, you get a sense that everyone there is a huge music enthusiast and loves it for the right reasons. Besides the music it also has many tattoo parlours and gothic like shops selling clothes, shoes and accessories for that trend.
