Budget friendly Barcelona

Barcelona has so much to offer, but entrance prices of attractions and museums are sometimes quite expensive. That’s why here’s a list of museums and attractions that have free entrance on certain days. These attractions are fun, interesting, surprising but especially budget friendly.

1. Parc Güell: One of the most well-known attractions of Barcelona is this park designed by the architect and artist Antoni Gaudi. You have a magnificent view over the city from the central square. The entrance is always free. Opening hours: every day from 10.00 until 18.00 or 21.00 depending of the season.

2. La pedrera (Casa Milà): For viewing the rooms open for the public there is being asked an entrance price, but you can also choose to only view the exhibition rooms. There’s always a free accessible exhibition. In this way you can also see the impressive entrance hall of this construction without paying. Opening hours: every day from 10.00 until 20.00.

3. Caixaforum: This is an exhibition complex housed in an old industrial building with a broad program of cultural activities. Accessible free of charge from 10.00 until 20.00, on Saturdays until 22.00.

4. MHC that is Museu d’Historia de Catalunya: A pleasant and modern museum which shows the history of Catalonia. On the roof terrace you have a beautiful view over the harbour and city. Free entrance every first Sunday of the month from 10.00 until 14.30.

8. Font Màgica de Montjuïc: Near the MNAC the fountain of Montjuïc is situated where you can admire an impressive sound and light show. From October until April there are sessions on Fridays and Saturdays at 19.00, 19.30, 20.00, 20.30 and from May until September on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 21.00, 21.30, 22.00, 22.30, 23.00.
