People forget about Andorra when visiting Barcelona as they are too wrapped up in the idea of finding the sun. In fact Andorra is only about 3 hours away by car and offers great skiing and a trip to the pyrenees. There are places nearer to Barcelona like La Molina where you can go for a day trip but if you are looking to get away at the beginning of the year, between Barcelona and Andorra you can find so many different things to do.

Andorra is great for beginners whilst also having challenging skiing for those who are more advanced, it is tax free so it does not break the bank in comparison with skiing in the Alps. There are many ways to get there, bus and train or even rent a car and in 3 hours you can feel like you are on a completely different side of the world and you can incorporate two holidays in one.
